Hex editor idevice game-save files

We will be changing 0x84 to 0x04 instead and 0xC4 to 0x44; we're just turning off the 0x80 bit. By doing this, it should enable the selling of those items. Since I couldn't get this to work on my Deer Heads, Searstalk, and Poison Glands, I've just spent four hours trying to wrap my head around the save files editing before giving up and removing the items directly from the game memory while running.

Has anyone figured out a perfect offset for inventory size? I forked and am currently rewriting the item editor and the inventory size is escaping me. One solution I currently am looking at is to search the bytes between two strings and try to locate the inventory size from there based on user input. Is there a way to cancel quests by editing the save-game? Unfortunately no one seems to care about this in the past :- I guess for this one would need: - a list of all quest names internally - the knowledge of how quests are stored in the save file I saw something like "quest started", "quest finished" - checking this out I guess, if I "delete" a quest, it should internally marked as new again - so that the person who gives the quest has a mark over his head again Does someone know something about this topic?

One would think you could technically get more than allowable, although it could cause your save to crash your game. Start at a known value and find that… Convert the hex to other formats to help analyzing… Dunno specifically without other info. I think that the Testing Hall is technically another world… On the one hand that means that you just need to find the hex values that determine which world you're in, on the other hand..

You still need to find that. If I were you I would analyze hex data comparing back to ascii values for things hoping that some of it comes out in cleartext, then I would search for the name of the regular world I'm sure you can find that info on UESP or google.

If you can find that, you could edit the "World" your character resides in and change it to the world that qasmoke resides in. Could I try downloading another saved file from the internet say I was on a car game I download a modded save and it has all cars and Max money is this possible? What do you do when the health levels are just bars and there isn't a number to remember to find the value? It would probably be better to be find the exact value you want to tweak..

Then load the game up again with the same file and try not to make ANY changes to the game OTHER than what you are trying to tweak which could be hard to do but say get an extra bucks and do nothing else..
